Stuyvesant Alumni in Finance Panel
Join us for our Stuy Alumni in Finance event!
Stuyvesant alumni working or interested in the finance industry are invited to attend a networking meeting and panel discussion.
The event will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at the offices of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, on the 27th floor of 101 Park Ave., New York, NY, 10178.
Those who attend will be able to network with other alumni in finance, and hear leading Stuyvesant alumni discuss current issues in finance. A Q&A session will follow the panel discussion. The panelists include:

This event is part of the Alumni Association’s Industry speaker and networking series, which brings together alumni from all class years working in similar fields. Past industry events include tech, finance, law, entrepreneurship, journalism, and medicine.
About the Panelists
Patty P. Tehrani ’84 is a legal analyst (Regulatory & Compliance) at Bloomberg Law. She is an experienced compliance attorney, with more than 20 years of experience in compliance at top financial institutions, and has authored articles and blogs, delivered webinars, and provided advisory and consulting support. She has published compliance and legal toolkits and practical guidance to help with governance, risk, and compliance responsibilities. Patty is a graduate of Binghamton University and earned her JD from American University, Washington College of Law.
Steve Trent ’87 spent most of his 20 years on Wall Street doing equity research. He is a director for Citigroup, currently specializing in American Airlines and the Latin American Transportation sector. Steve speaks six languages with varying degrees of fluency, including Spanish and Portuguese. He earned his BA from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated magna cum laude, and holds an MBA degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Robert Schmidt ’96 founded Harbor Group at Merrill Lynch to provide wealth management for a diverse clientele consisting of individuals, families, business owners, foundations, endowments, nonprofit organizations and corporations. Robert provides a personalized advisory experience by developing a deep understanding of his clients, their balance sheets and their goals. Robert has received recognition during his 20-year tenure in the industry. He graduated from Manhattanville College where he double majored in Business and Political Science and completed a post-graduate program at Columbia University to become a Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®).
Gary Mishuris ’97 is the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Silver Ring Value Partners, an investment firm with a concentrated long-term intrinsic value strategy. He also teaches the Value Investing Seminar at the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. Prior to founding the firm in 2016, Gary was a Managing Director at Manulife Asset Management since 2011, where he was the Lead Portfolio Manager of the US Focused Value strategy. He began his career in 2001 at Fidelity as an Equity Research Associate. Gary received an S.B. in Computer Science and an S.B. in Economics from MIT in 2001.
Jason P. Katz ’02 is a corporate attorney at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP where he focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities, and other transactional matters. Jason works on the domestic and cross-border purchase/sale transactions and joint ventures, including advising international clients on purchasing and selling U.S.-based assets. He also has experience with a variety of capital market transactions including representing issuers, underwriters, and investors in equity securities offerings. Jason earned a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
