Math Without Numbers with Milo Beckman ’11
Join author Milo Beckman ’11 for a book release event of his latest, Math Without Numbers, on February 17, 2022 at 7:00pm in the Murray Kahn Theater at Stuyvesant High School.
After brief introductions by David Wagener of Harvard and Milo’s Stuy math teacher, Jim Cocoros, Milo will give a talk accessible to all and likely to ignite some math joy and wonder. A book signing will follow for everyone purchasing the book.
Note: All attendees are required to provide proof of vaccination and complete a health screening to enter the building so please arrive by 6:30pm to allow time for verification.
Bio
Milo Beckman ’11 has been addicted to math since a young age. Born in Manhattan in 1995, he began taking math classes at Stuyvesant High School at age eight and was captain of the New York City Math Team by age thirteen. His diverse projects and independent research have been featured in The New York Times, FiveThirtyEight, Good Morning America, Salon, the Huffington Post, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Business Insider, the Boston Globe, Gothamist, the Economist, and others. He worked for three tech companies, two banks, and a US Senator before retiring at age nineteen to teach math in New York, China, and Brazil, and to work on Math Without Numbers.
