Class of 1956 – 60th Reunion on Friday, May 20th and Saturday May 21st
We have events planned for Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21, 2016. The total cost for the weekend events is $110 per person, but if you cannot make both days, you may select either day for $55 per person.
Friday, May 20, 2016: A tour of the new school building preceded by lunch.
We will meet for a light lunch at the World Center Hotel (140 Washington Street, New York 10006) at 12:30pm. There, we will dine at their View of the World Terrace Club, with great city views. This is a good chance to meet and chat with classmates. At 3:30pm our plan is to walk or taxi to Stuyvesant HS about 0.6 miles away. (345 Chambers Street, New York 10282) for a tour of the new school. If all goes according to plan, our tour will be followed by an open mic at the school, where you will be invited to briefly share your thoughts.
Saturday, May 21, 2016: A morning tour of The Old School building followed by lunch and an afternoon Mets game in a Sky Suite at Citi Field in Queens.
At 10:30 AM we tour the Old School Building. As a reminder, it is still at 345 East 15th Street, New York, between First and Second Avenues. We will meet inside the main entrance on 15th Street side. The tour should last about 90 minutes. We will then board a private bus at the school for the ride to Citi Field Luxury Sky Suite, 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Queens, NY 11368.
We will meet there at about 12:45pm, where the current Stuyvesant HS Principal will discuss the state of our beloved Stuyvesant. We will then move on to the Sky Suite, where a buffet lunch will be served (please no children, and be sure to advise us if you have any dietary restrictions).
We will watch the Mets play the Milwaukee Brewers from the Sky Suite. We forecast good weather and a great game. The event will be held rain or shine. The game should end around 7-8pm and our bus will be waiting to bring us back to Midtown Manhattan.
We are the guests of Saul Katz (Class of ’56) and the New York Mets for lunch and the game.
