Raymond Fong ’73, MD

Raymond was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Chinatown. After graduating from Stuyvesant, in the top 1% of his class, he was educated at Harvard where he received his BA cum laude in Biochemistry in three years. He trained at Cornell-Weill Medical School and then did his ophthalmology residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. After training, he realized his professional goal of returning to and practicing in the Asian community. He currently has one of the busiest ophthalmology practices in NYC, with offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, specializing in LASIK and cataract surgery. He is director/ co-founder of Advanced LASIK in mid-Manhattan, as well as director/partner at the New York Eye Ambulatory Surgical Center and the Brooklyn Eye Surgical Center.
